Overview

Compound 33 is a designation used for at least two distinct experimental small molecule compounds described in pharmacological research. One version is a **[1,2,4]triazolo[5,1-f]purin-2-one derivative** acting as a potent and selective **adenosine A2A receptor antagonist**. This compound is designed for the treatment of **Parkinson's disease** and **depression**, demonstrating oral efficacy in animal models like haloperidol-induced catalepsy and forced swim tests. A second version is a **piperidine-based GPR142 agonist** developed as a glucose-dependent insulin secretagogue for **Type 2 diabetes**. This GPR142 agonist stimulates insulin secretion via the Gq signaling pathway in pancreatic β-cells, showing potent glucose-lowering effects in mice and monkeys with a reduced risk of hypoglycemia compared to traditional secretagogues.
