Compound 5g acts as a potent and selective agonist of the **G protein-coupled receptor 120 (GPR120)**, also known as **Free Fatty Acid Receptor 4 (FFAR4)**. In preclinical studies, it has demonstrated significant anti-neoplastic activity, particularly as an inhibitor of the **PC-3 human prostate cancer cell line**. Activation of GPR120 signaling by Compound 5g is thought to inhibit the proliferation and survival of prostate cancer cells, potentially through the induction of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Additionally, the compound has shown promise for the treatment of **type 2 diabetes** by promoting glucose-dependent insulin secretion and improving oral glucose tolerance in animal models. It is characterized by favorable metabolic stability and oral bioavailability.
