Overview

Compound 6c is a non-specific designation used in scientific literature to refer to several distinct small molecule research compounds, each developed by different research groups for various therapeutic indications. One prominent Compound 6c is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor developed by Yantai University and the Yantai Institute of Materia Medica for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, designed for once-weekly administration. Another version is a naphthoquinone-derivative antimicrobial agent targeting methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) through mechanisms including membrane disruption and iron chelation. In oncology, Compound 6c has been used to describe an artesunate-derivative hybrid targeting VEGFR-2 for hepatocellular carcinoma, a pyrazolopyrimidinone-based PDE1 inhibitor for acute myelogenous leukemia, and a 1,3-thiazole derivative that inhibits EGFR tyrosine kinase in colon and liver cancer models. All identified versions are currently in preclinical development.
