Overview
Compound amino acid injection 18AA-IX (marketed under the brand names Neoamiyu and Pushuqing) is a specialized parenteral nutrition product formulated with 18 essential and non-essential amino acids. It is specifically indicated for patients with acute or chronic renal failure experiencing hypoproteinemia, malnutrition, or requiring nutritional support before and after surgery. By providing a balanced mixture of amino acids with a high ratio of essential to non-essential amino acids, it serves as an intravenous nitrogen source to promote protein synthesis and meet metabolic demands while minimizing nitrogenous waste. Originally developed by Morishita Pharmaceutical and Ajinomoto (now EA Pharma) and launched in Japan in 1996, the formulation has been localized and genericized in China by developers including Guangzhou Green Cross Pharmaceutical, WXK Pharma, and China Resources Double-Crane Pharmaceutical.
