Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Aminobutyric Acid Vitamin E Capsule (marketed under the brand name Baitai) is an approved oral combination therapy developed by Guangzhou Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical Group for the treatment of various neurological disorders. The formulation contains a complex mixture of synthetic compounds—including γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), vitamin E, choline chloride, oryzanol, vitamin B1, and niacin—alongside several traditional Chinese medicinal extracts such as Panax notoginseng, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Acanthopanax, Polygonum multiflorum, and Acorus gramineus. It is primarily indicated for cerebral arteriosclerosis, the sequelae of stroke or brain trauma, and general decline in cerebral function. The drug exerts its therapeutic effects through multiple mechanisms, including neurotransmitter modulation via the GABAergic system, antioxidant protection against oxidative stress, and improvement of cerebral metabolism and blood flow.
