Compound Aminopyrine and Barbital Injection

Compound Aminopyrine and Barbital Injection is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product used for its antipyretic and analgesic properties. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute fever and various pain conditions, including headache, neuralgia, and muscle pain. The formulation contains two active ingredients: aminopyrine, a pyrazolone derivative that acts as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis, and barbital, a long-acting barbiturate that acts as a sedative and enhances the analgesic effect by modulating GABA-A receptors. Although sometimes categorized alongside traditional products in older Chinese pharmaceutical contexts, it is a conventional chemical medication. It is manufactured by Guangxi Nanning Baihui Pharmaceutical and is typically administered via intramuscular injection.
