Overview

Compound Danshen Dripping Pills (CDDP), also known as T89, is a standardized traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) composite formulation developed by Tasly Pharmaceutical. It is primarily composed of extracts from *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen), *Panax notoginseng* (Sanchi), and Borneol. The drug is widely utilized for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular conditions, particularly coronary artery disease and angina pectoris. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to its ability to improve coronary blood flow, inhibit platelet aggregation, and reduce myocardial oxygen consumption through anti-inflammatory and antioxidant pathways. CDDP holds the distinction of being the first TCM formulation to successfully complete a Phase II clinical trial under the U.S. FDA's Investigational New Drug (IND) application and has been approved for clinical use in China for over two decades.
