Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound embryonic bovine liver extract is a hepatoprotective pharmaceutical product primarily used in China for the treatment of chronic liver diseases, including nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), chronic hepatitis, and early-stage liver cirrhosis. It is a combination formulation typically containing embryonic bovine liver extract, inositol, and vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin). The embryonic bovine liver extract component is rich in hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), insulin-like growth factor (IGF), and various amino acids and peptides that stimulate hepatocyte regeneration and repair. Inositol and vitamin B12 act as lipotropic agents, promoting the metabolism of fats and reducing hepatic steatosis. The drug is marketed under the brand name Anfate and is manufactured by companies such as Zhejiang DND Pharmaceutical.
