Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Ganmaoling tablet (复方感冒灵片) is an approved compound traditional Chinese and Western medicine widely used in China for the treatment of the common cold and influenza, particularly wind-heat common cold. It is a fixed-dose combination containing both herbal extracts—including Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (honeysuckle), Viticis Negundo Folium, Chrysanthemi Indici Flos (wild chrysanthemum), Evodiae Lepta Folium et Ramulus, Baphicacanthis Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix, and Ilicis Asprellae Radix—and Western chemical active ingredients, namely acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine maleate, and caffeine. The herbal components provide heat-clearing, detoxifying, and exterior-relieving effects, while acetaminophen acts as an antipyretic and analgesic, chlorpheniramine maleate serves as an antihistamine to relieve nasal symptoms, and caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant to counteract drowsiness. It is manufactured and marketed by several pharmaceutical companies in China, including Hainan Linheng Pharmaceutical under the brand name Kuaisuda.
