Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Gaozhiban (also known as Compound Gaoziban) is a traditional Uygur herbal medicine formulated as a tablet (CGZBT) and developed by Xinjiang Uygur Pharmaceutical. It is composed of 11 ingredients, including ten medicinal plants (such as Anchusa officinalis, Centaurea cyanus root, sandalwood, Limonium gmelinii, Dracocephalum moldavica, Lepidium sativum seeds, Perilla frutescens seeds, Anchusa officinalis flowers, lavender, and coriander seeds) and silkworm cocoon. In China, it is marketed and used to treat emotional and neurological conditions, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, headache, neurasthenia, and cardiovascular symptoms like palpitations and hypertension. Preclinical studies suggest that Compound Gaozhiban exerts antidepressant-like effects by inhibiting the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB inflammatory signaling pathway and promoting GSK-3β phosphorylation to enhance Wnt/β-catenin activation in the hippocampus.
