Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Glycyrrhizin Monoammonium Salt S (also known as Compound Ammonium Glycyrrhizinate S; Chinese: 注射用复方甘草酸单铵S) is an approved injectable pharmaceutical product developed by Liaoning Nirvana Pharmaceutical (Liaoning Nuovinuo). It is a small molecule combination product containing monoammonium glycyrrhizinate S (a salt form of glycyrrhizin derived from licorice root), cysteine hydrochloride, and glycine. The drug is indicated for abnormal liver function caused by acute, chronic, and persistent hepatitis, with adjuvant therapeutic effects on toxic hepatitis, traumatic hepatitis, and cancer. It may also be used for food poisoning, drug poisoning, and drug allergy. The drug exerts its effects through anti-inflammatory and hepatoprotective mechanisms, with glycyrrhizin/monoammonium glycyrrhizinate targeting high-mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1), corticosteroid 11-beta-dehydrogenase isozyme 2 (HSD11B2), and phospholipase A2 (PLA2) to provide liver protection and reduce inflammation.
