Overview
Compound Granules of Hedyotis diffusa (CGHD) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by Shanghai General Hospital (also known as Shanghai First People's Hospital), affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. It is a botanical combination of three herbal ingredients: *Hedyotis diffusa* Willd (the primary active component), *Smilax china* L., and *Solanum lyratum* Thunb. Approved as a hospital preparation in Shanghai (Approval No.: SYZ-ZF-003-2007), it is specifically indicated for the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) with intestinal metaplasia and spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome. The formulation is designed to clear heat, detoxify, resolve blood stasis, and dissipate masses. It has demonstrated anti-inflammatory and potential anti-tumor activities in clinical practice and is being evaluated for its ability to reverse gastric mucosal atrophy and prevent the progression of premalignant lesions to gastric cancer.
