Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Houttuynia Cordata Tablets (Fufang Yuxingcao Pian) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed and manufactured by Guangdong Xinfeng Pharmaceutical. It is an approved over-the-counter (OTC Class A) medication in China, indicated for the treatment of respiratory conditions such as acute pharyngitis and acute tonsillitis caused by external wind-heat. The formulation consists of five primary herbal ingredients: *Houttuynia cordata* (yuxingcao), *Scutellaria baicalensis* (huangqin), *Isatis root* (banlangen), *Forsythia* (lianqiao), and *Lonicera japonica* (jinyinhua). According to TCM principles, the drug functions to clear heat and detoxify, addressing symptoms like throat redness, swelling, and pain. As a complex herbal mixture, it does not have a single identified molecular target but relies on the synergistic effects of its botanical components.
