Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Houttuynia Mixture (Fufang Yuxingcao Heji) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) oral liquid formulation developed and marketed by Zhejiang Conba Pharmaceutical. It is composed of five primary herbal extracts: *Houttuynia cordata*, *Scutellaria baicalensis*, *Forsythia suspensa*, *Lonicera japonica*, and *Isatis indigotica*. The mixture is widely used in China for the treatment of respiratory ailments, including acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and bronchitis, due to its purported heat-clearing and detoxifying properties. Pharmacologically, it exhibits broad-spectrum antibacterial and antiviral activities, as well as anti-inflammatory effects mediated through the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Recent clinical research has explored its utility in pediatric acute pharyngitis and as a complementary treatment for COVID-19.
