Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound inactivated staphylococcus albus is an oral inactivated bacterial preparation developed and manufactured by Shenhua Pharmaceutical. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic bronchitis and recurrent respiratory tract infections. The preparation consists of inactivated *Staphylococcus albus* (also known as *Staphylococcus epidermidis*), which acts as a non-specific immunomodulator. Upon oral administration, it stimulates the mucosal immune system, enhancing the phagocytic activity of macrophages and increasing the levels of secretory immunoglobulins (such as sIgA) in the respiratory tract. This helps to improve the body's resistance to bacterial and viral pathogens, reducing the frequency and severity of acute exacerbations of chronic respiratory conditions. In the Chinese pharmaceutical market, it is often formulated as a powder (Compound Inactivated Staphylococcus Albus Powder) which is then processed into tablets.
