Overview

Compound indigo, also known as 复方青黛胶囊, is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine indicated for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, pityriasis rosea, and drug eruption. It functions by clearing heat, detoxifying, resolving blood stasis, and relieving itching. Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting epidermal cell proliferation, promoting granular cell growth, regulating immune responses by lowering IL-2 and IL-8 levels, and improving blood rheology. Key active components derived from Indigo Naturalis, such as indigo, indirubin, and tryptanthrin, contribute to its anti-proliferative, anti-inflammatory, and anti-angiogenic effects through modulation of various signaling pathways including TAK1, JAK3/STAT3, Wnt/β-catenin, Akt/PKB, FAK, and AP-1/c-Jun.
