Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Panax Notoginseng is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation, also known as Compound pseudo-ginseng granules, primarily utilized for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for its efficacy in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention. The therapeutic effect is thought to be mediated through the modulation of gut microbiota, leading to a reduction in the plasma levels of trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO), a metabolite associated with atherosclerosis and adverse thrombotic events. The formulation is developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
