Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Pien Tze Huang Buccal Tablet (Fufang Pianzaihuang Hanpian) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed and manufactured by Zhangzhou Pien Tze Huang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is a multi-component herbal product containing Herba Wedeliae, Herba Sarcandrae, Radix Scrophulariae, Radix Ophiopogonis, Radix Glycyrrhizae, Pien Tze Huang powder, and Mentholum. The formulation is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic pharyngitis (faucitis) resulting from the upward invasion of wind-fire and excessive heat in the lung and stomach. It works by clearing internal heat, detoxifying, relieving throat pain, and moistening the throat. As a TCM formulation, it does not have a specified single molecular mechanism of action or biological target, but rather exerts its therapeutic effects through the combined action of its multiple herbal components.
