Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Platycladus Orientalis Tincture (CPT) is an ethanol-based polyherbal tincture developed as an in-hospital topical preparation by Shanghai Dermatology Hospital (Shanghai Skin Disease Hospital) for the treatment of alopecia, including androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and alopecia areata. The formulation consists of Platycladi Cacumen (Chinese arborvitae twig and leaf), Szechwan Chinaberry Fruit (川楝子, Toosendan Fructus), and Herba Speranskiae Tuberculatae (透骨草, Tuberculate Speranskia Herb). CPT promotes hair regrowth and hair-cycle progression by activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, enhancing dermal papilla cell viability, and modulating androgen-related and apoptosis/proliferation pathways.
