Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Sanhuang Capsule (also known as Fufang Sanhuang Capsule) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by Kunming Miaosen Biotechnology and Beijing You'an Hospital for the treatment of HIV infection and AIDS. The formulation is derived from 16 traditional Chinese herbs, including Phellodendron amurense, Astragalus membranaceus, Scutellaria baicalensis, Cuscuta chinensis, Atractylodes macrocephala, Hedyotis diffusa, Pulsatilla chinensis, and Bupleurum chinense. It is designed to inhibit HIV-1 replication, specifically targeting HIV-1 integrase, while boosting the patient's immune system and increasing CD4+ T-lymphocyte counts. Compound Sanhuang Capsule has been evaluated in a multicenter, double-blind, randomized Phase II clinical trial in China, though its registration application was ultimately not approved by the Chinese regulatory authorities.
