Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Toad Venom Plaster is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical formulation developed by Kanion & Huawe Medicine for the treatment of various types of pain, including rheumatic pain, joint pain, and cancer-related pain. The primary active component is toad venom (Chansu), which contains bioactive bufadienolides such as bufalin and cinobufagin. These compounds are known to exert analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, likely through the inhibition of Na+/K+-ATPase and modulation of inflammatory mediators. The plaster is designed for transdermal delivery, providing localized relief. It is approved in China for clinical use.
