Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound W Freeze Off is an over-the-counter (OTC) cryotherapy treatment used for the removal of common and plantar warts. It utilizes a pressurized aerosol system containing a mixture of dimethyl ether and propane to deliver extreme cold (approximately -55°C) directly to the wart tissue via a precision tip applicator. This process induces localized cellular necrosis (frostbite) of the wart and the underlying Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The treated tissue typically falls off within 10 to 14 days as the body replaces the damaged lesion with healthy skin. It is marketed as a safe and effective alternative to clinical cryotherapy for adults and children aged 4 years and older.
