Overview

Compound Xiaoying Granules (复方消瘿颗粒) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Guang'anmen Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of Graves' disease, particularly in patients presenting with the TCM syndrome of yin deficiency and phlegm-heat. The granules are often used as an adjunctive therapy alongside standard antithyroid drugs like methimazole to improve clinical symptoms, reduce thyroid volume, and modulate thyroid hormone levels. The formula typically contains botanical extracts aimed at clearing heat, resolving phlegm, and softening hard masses (goiter). Clinical studies have focused on its ability to regulate thyroid hormones (T3, T4, TSH) and reduce thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulin (TSI) levels.
