Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Yinchai Granules (Fufang Yinchai Keli) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically formulated to clear heat, detoxify, and resolve the exterior, making it a primary treatment for viral respiratory infections. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was officially recognized and approved as a hospital preparation in Sichuan Province for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, particularly for mild and moderate cases. The granules are composed of several herbal extracts, including *Stellaria dichotoma* (Yinchaihu) and *Lonicera japonica* (Jinyinhua), which provide a multi-target pharmacological profile. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of viral entry and replication, alongside the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokine production (such as IL-6 and TNF-alpha), thereby mitigating the risk of cytokine storms and systemic inflammation.
