Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Compound Yuxingcao Mixture (also known as Fufang Yuxingcao Heji) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) oral liquid formulation widely used in China for its heat-clearing, detoxifying, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is composed of five herbal ingredients: Houttuyniae Herba (Yuxingcao), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Isatidis Radix (Banlangen), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), and Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (Jinyinhua). The mixture is primarily indicated for the treatment of sore throat, acute pharyngitis, and tonsillitis caused by exogenous wind-heat. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was investigated for its potential therapeutic benefits in patients with COVID-19, and its mechanisms of action have been studied via network pharmacology, showing potential immunomodulatory and antiviral activities.
