Compral

Compral is an over-the-counter analgesic combination product developed and marketed by Adcock Ingram Limited in South Africa. It is a small molecule combination drug containing three active ingredients: aspirin (400mg), paracetamol (100mg), and anhydrous caffeine (30mg). Aspirin acts as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) by irreversibly inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, providing anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) provides additional analgesic and antipyretic effects, likely through central nervous system mechanisms involving the modulation of prostaglandin synthesis. Caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant and an adjuvant to enhance the analgesic efficacy of the other components. Compral is indicated for the symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain, including headaches, dysmenorrhea, muscle and joint pain, dental pain, fever, and symptoms associated with colds or flu.
