Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Comtusi Forte is an oral combination medication developed and marketed by Combiphar, containing the sedative antihistamine oxomemazine and the expectorant guaifenesin. Oxomemazine acts as a competitive antagonist at histamine H1 receptors and muscarinic M1 receptors, reducing allergic symptoms and suppressing the cough reflex. Guaifenesin acts as an expectorant by increasing the volume and reducing the viscosity of respiratory tract secretions, facilitating mucus clearance. Comtusi Forte is approved in Indonesia for the symptomatic relief of allergy-related coughs and coughs with phlegm.
