Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Conatumumab + panitumumab is a combination therapy used in the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer. Conatumumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets death receptor 5 (DR5) and mediates apoptosis of tumor cells with low toxicity to normal cells. Panitumumab is a fully humanized IgG2 monoclonal antibody that binds competitively to the extracellular domain of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), preventing its activation and halting the cascade of intracellular signals dependent on this receptor. The combination has been studied in clinical trials for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.
