Overview
Conbercept is a recombinant fusion protein that acts as a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antagonist, inhibiting VEGF-A, VEGF-B, and placental growth factor (PlGF), thereby suppressing angiogenesis and vascular permeability. Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. The combination of conbercept and dexamethasone is not currently available as an approved fixed-dose combination product in clinical practice; however, both drugs are used in ophthalmology for the treatment of retinal diseases such as diabetic macular edema (DME), retinal vein occlusion (RVO), and neovascular age-related macular degeneration[3][4]. Conbercept is developed by Chengdu Kanghong Biotech Co., Ltd., while dexamethasone intravitreal implant formulations are marketed by companies such as AbbVie Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG[2][6].
