Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Concensi** is a fixed-dose combination tablet of **amlodipine besylate** (a calcium channel blocker) and **celecoxib** (a COX-2 selective NSAID) approved for adult patients requiring both hypertension treatment and osteoarthritis pain management. Amlodipine inhibits calcium ion influx into vascular and cardiac smooth muscle, reducing peripheral vascular resistance and blood pressure. Celecoxib selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) to decrease prostaglandin synthesis, relieving osteoarthritis signs and symptoms. Available in 2.5/200 mg, 5/200 mg, and 10/200 mg strengths for once-daily oral use; developed by Kitov Pharma and FDA-approved in 2018, though later discontinued in the US.[1][3][5][6][7]
