Concentrated Growth Factor (CGF) is an autologous, third-generation platelet concentrate used in regenerative medicine and oral surgery, specifically studied by Minia University for dental implant applications. It is produced from the patient's own blood through a specialized centrifugation process that results in a dense fibrin matrix significantly richer in growth factors—including TGF-β1, VEGF, and PDGF—and CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells compared to earlier generations like PRP or PRF. When applied to surgical sites, such as around immediate dental implants, CGF acts as a biological membrane and scaffold that promotes accelerated bone regeneration, improves marginal bone levels, and enhances bone density by stimulating angiogenesis and osteoblast activity.
