Conditioned Medium From Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cell Culture Secretome is a cell-free biological therapeutic derived from the paracrine factors secreted by mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) harvested from umbilical cord tissue. Developed by Universitas Sriwijaya, this secretome contains a complex mixture of bioactive molecules, including cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, and extracellular vesicles such as exosomes. In the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, the conditioned medium is administered via intra-articular injection to modulate the inflammatory environment, reduce cartilage degradation, and promote tissue repair. It is currently being evaluated in comparative clinical trials to assess its effectiveness relative to standard treatments like Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Hyaluronic Acid (HA).
