Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cong Rongjing (also referred to as "Cong Rong Jing" or "CRJ") is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine formulation. It is based on the herb Herba Cistanche (Rou Cong Rong), which has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for its reputed effects on kidney yang deficiency, constipation relief, and general tonic properties[1][2]. The formulation may include other herbs but centers around Rou Cong Rong as the primary active ingredient. Preclinical studies suggest that modified versions of this decoction can influence cell survival and apoptosis pathways[8]. The main bioactive compounds are phenylethanoid glycosides. It is primarily used in China and other Asian countries both as a health supplement and within clinical practice for various indications related to kidney function, vitality, and gastrointestinal health[1][5].
