Connective tissue graft (CTG) is an autologous biological tissue used in periodontal plastic surgery to reconstruct deficient interdental papilla. The procedure involves harvesting a layer of subepithelial connective tissue, typically from the patient's palate, and surgically placing it into the site of the papillary defect. The graft acts as a physical scaffold and provides biological cues to support the regeneration and augmentation of the gingival tissue, aiming to eliminate "black triangles" and improve esthetic and functional outcomes. In the clinical trial led by Shaimaa Hamdy, CTG is being compared to Albumin-Platelet Rich Fibrin (Alb-PRF) for its efficacy in rebuilding interdental papilla.
