Conodin A is a bisindole alkaloid natural product primarily isolated from the plant *Tabernaemontana corymbosa*. It is recognized as a potent and selective inhibitor of the vacuolar-type H+-ATPase (V-ATPase), an enzyme complex responsible for acidifying intracellular compartments and the extracellular microenvironment in cancer cells. By inhibiting V-ATPase, conodin A disrupts pH homeostasis, which in turn inhibits tumor cell migration, invasion, and autophagy. Research has primarily focused on its potential as an antineoplastic agent, particularly in the context of overcoming drug resistance and preventing metastasis. It is currently utilized as a pharmacological tool in the preclinical research stage.
