Consept F

Consept F is a dental antimicrobial and fluoridating solution indicated for the prevention of dental caries and the management of gingivitis. It is a combination product containing chlorhexidine gluconate, a broad-spectrum bisbiguanide antiseptic, and sodium fluoride, a mineralizing agent. Chlorhexidine gluconate exerts its effect by adsorbing onto the negatively charged cell walls of oral microorganisms, disrupting the cytoplasmic membrane and causing the leakage of intracellular components, which leads to cell death. Sodium fluoride provides a source of fluoride ions that integrate into the hydroxyapatite structure of tooth enamel to form fluorapatite, a mineral that is significantly more resistant to acid-induced demineralization. This dual-action formulation effectively reduces the oral microbial load associated with plaque formation while simultaneously strengthening the tooth structure against decay. It is primarily utilized as a mouth rinse in both clinical dental prophylaxis and home-care regimens.
