Convalescent anti-SARS-CoV-2 MBT plasma is a biological product derived from the plasma of individuals who have recovered from Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The plasma undergoes Methylene Blue Treated (MBT) pathogen reduction. It is administered via intravenous infusion and is being investigated for its potential to reduce all-cause mortality in hospitalized COVID-19 patients requiring intensive care unit (ICU) admission. Instituto Grifols, S.A. is the lead sponsor for its development.
