Drug intelligence / Profile preview
convalescent plasma-University of Liege-COVID-19 is an investigational biologic therapy consisting of plasma collected from donors who have recovered from COVID-19. This specific therapy was evaluated in the CONFIDENT trial, a multicenter randomized phase II study coordinated by the University Hospital of Liège. The plasma is selected for high neutralizing antibody titers (at least 1:320) against SARS-CoV-2. It functions through passive immunization, providing immediate, exogenous antibodies to neutralize the virus and mitigate the progression of COVID-19-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
