ConvitVax is a personalized therapeutic cancer vaccine designed for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer. It is composed of three main components: - Autologous tumor cell homogenate (derived from 0.3 g of the patient's own tumor tissue) - Bacillus Calmette-Guérin Danish strain 1331 (BCG D1331) at a dose of 0.0625 mg - Formalin at a concentration of 0.02% The vaccine is administered via intradermal injection and aims to stimulate the patient’s immune system to recognize and attack residual or recurrent tumor cells by presenting autologous tumor antigens in combination with an immunostimulatory adjuvant (BCG) and formalin as an inactivating agent. Preclinical studies and pilot human experience have shown that this approach can reduce tumor growth with minimal side effects, offering a potentially safe, low-cost immunotherapy option for patients who have failed at least one line of therapy[6][7][9][10].
