Drug intelligence / Profile preview
V-Cu64 is a radiopharmaceutical diagnostic imaging agent developed by Voxel S.A., consisting of the somatostatin analog edotreotide (DOTATOC) labeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope copper-64 (Cu-64). It is designed for PET-CT imaging of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) that overexpress somatostatin receptors, particularly SSTR2. The use of Cu-64 provides a longer half-life (12.7 hours) compared to the more common Gallium-68 (68 minutes), facilitating centralized production and distribution. In clinical evaluation, V-Cu64 is being compared to Ga-68 DOTATOC to demonstrate bioequivalence in lesion detection and standardized uptake values (SUVmax) in patients with suspected or confirmed NETs.
