Copper-64 CANF (Cu-CANF) is a radiopharmaceutical that combines the copper-64 radioisotope with a targeting molecule (CANF). Copper-64 has a half-life of 12.7 hours and emits both positron (β+, 18%) and beta (β-, 39%) particles, making it suitable for both PET imaging and targeted radiotherapy. The 12.7-hour half-life allows for centralized production and distribution to remote imaging centers, providing logistical advantages over shorter-lived radioisotopes like gallium-68 or fluorine-18.
