Coqun

Coqun is a specialized formulation of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) combined with Vitamin E (specifically alpha-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate, or TPGS), primarily used as a neuroprotective and antioxidant treatment in ophthalmology. It is available as a topical ophthalmic solution and an oral formulation. The topical version is often regulated as a Class IIb medical device in Europe and is designed to deliver CoQ10 to the retina to support mitochondrial function and reduce oxidative stress, which are critical factors in the progression of glaucoma. The oral version, Coqun OS, utilizes timed-release 'Miniactives' technology to ensure sustained plasma concentrations of CoQ10. Coqun is investigated for its ability to reduce retinal ganglion cell loss and improve visual cortical responses in patients with open-angle glaucoma, pseudo-exfoliative glaucoma, and retinopathy of prematurity.
