Overview

COR-101 is a fully human monoclonal IgG1 antibody with an FcγR-silenced Fc region, developed to neutralize SARS-CoV-2 by binding to the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the viral spike (S) protein. This blocks the virus from attaching to and entering human cells via the ACE2 receptor. The antibody was derived from convalescent COVID-19 patients using phage display technology and has demonstrated potent neutralizing activity against multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants, including Delta. Unlike some other antibodies authorized for emergency use in mild cases, COR-101 was specifically designed for hospitalized patients with moderate to severe COVID-19 who require urgent medical support and may not respond adequately to vaccination or natural infection. Its Fc region is engineered to avoid excessive immune activation and reduce risk of adverse immune reactions[1][2][3][4][5][6].
