COR-1389

COR-1389 is a very long-acting peptide agonist of the corticotropin-releasing hormone receptor 2 (CRF2/CRHR2), developed for once-monthly subcutaneous administration. It is being investigated primarily for the treatment of chronic diseases with high unmet medical need, including right heart failure, obesity (with comorbidities), and sarcopenia. Preclinical studies have shown that COR-1389 improves cardiopulmonary function and reduces right ventricular hypertrophy in models of right heart failure, lessens body weight by reducing fat mass while preserving muscle mass in obesity models, and ameliorates skeletal muscle wasting in sarcopenia models. The drug is currently in phase 1 clinical development[1][3][4][8].
