COR-ZZZ

COR-ZZZ is a preclinical small molecule drug candidate being developed by Corteria Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of hyponatremic acute heart failure. The name COR-ZZZ appears to be a placeholder or OCR artifact for the asset COR-2001 (also sometimes referred to as COR-3001), which is a vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist. The drug is designed to address fluid overload and low blood sodium levels (hyponatremia) in heart failure patients by selectively blocking the V2 receptors in the kidneys. This action promotes aquaresis—the excretion of free water without significant loss of electrolytes—thereby correcting hyponatremia and reducing systemic congestion. Corteria Pharmaceuticals, which focuses on developing therapies for worsening heart failure, licensed this program as part of a portfolio of assets originally developed by Sanofi.
