Overview

CordSTEM-ST (CBT210-POI) is an allogeneic cell therapy developed by CHABiotech, consisting of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs). It is specifically designed for the treatment of premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), a condition where ovaries stop functioning normally before the age of 40, often leading to infertility. The therapy works by leveraging the regenerative and paracrine properties of MSCs to restore ovarian function, potentially through the secretion of growth factors that promote follicular development and reduce apoptosis in ovarian cells. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in restoring hormonal balance and ovarian activity in women with a history of ovarian failure.
