CORDStrom-TRAIL is an investigational, off-the-shelf cell therapy biologic being developed by INmune Bio in collaboration with Anthony Nolan. It utilizes the CORDStrom platform, which consists of pooled, allogeneic, human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (hucMSCs) engineered to express TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL). TRAIL is a pro-apoptotic protein that selectively induces programmed cell death in cancer cells by binding to death receptors (DR4 and DR5) while sparing normal cells. The hucMSCs serve as a delivery vehicle, leveraging their innate tumor-homing capabilities and immunomodulatory properties to target solid tumors. The therapy is manufactured under cGMP standards using standardized MSC banks to ensure batch-to-batch consistency.
