*Cordyceps chinensis* (scientifically known as *Ophiocordyceps sinensis*) is a parasitic fungus that grows on the larvae of ghost moths and is highly valued in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It contains several bioactive compounds, most notably cordycepin (3'-deoxyadenosine) and various polysaccharides, which contribute to its immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor properties. In oncological research, *Cordyceps chinensis* has been shown to inhibit the viability of cancer cells, including pancreatic adenocarcinoma lines such as BxPC-3 and Panc-1, primarily by inducing apoptosis and suppressing cell proliferation. It is often utilized as a dietary supplement or as an adjuvant therapy in combination with traditional chemotherapeutic agents.
