Cordyceps cicadae ethanolic extract (CCM-EtOH) is an extract derived from the mycelia of *Cordyceps cicadae*, a well-known traditional Chinese herbal medicine. It is obtained through lyophilization and extraction with ethanol. Preclinical studies in a steroid-induced rat model of glaucoma have shown that CCM-EtOH can significantly lower intraocular pressure (IOP) and exhibits antioxidant activities. Its efficacy in IOP reduction was observed to be less than that of the aqueous extract (CCM-DW) in the same study. The antioxidant effects are evidenced by decreases in malondialdehyde and lactate dehydrogenase levels, and increases in catalase, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione peroxidase levels.
