cordyceps cicadae extract

Cordyceps cicadae extract is a medicinal preparation derived from the fungus Cordyceps cicadae, traditionally used in Chinese medicine. It contains bioactive compounds including polysaccharides (62.7 mg/g), alditols (mainly mannitol, 110 mg/g), nucleosides (8.26 mg/g), protein (35.7 mg/g), and polyphenols (3.8 mg/g). A key active component is N6-(2-hydroxyethyl)-adenosine (HEA), present in higher concentrations in the water extract (3.9 mg/g). The extract demonstrates antioxidant properties, promotes hyaluronan synthesis in skin fibroblasts, reduces intraocular pressure, and shows potential benefits for eye conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, and dry eye disease.
